September was a month of surprises! From the unexpected weather to the exciting events, it was a month that had something for everyone. From the start, it seemed like things were gonna be wild - and they sure were! With temperatures soaring and storms rolling in, it was an unpredictable ride. But there were plenty of fun activities to keep us busy - from outdoor concerts to festivals and more. It’s been a wild ride, but September definitely delivered!
What Happened September 3? [Solved]
Yay! On Sept. 3, 1783, the U.S. and Britain finally put pen to paper and signed the Treaty of Paris, officially ending the Revolutionary War - hoorah!
September 11th Attacks: On September 11th, 2001, terrorists hijacked four planes and flew them into the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. This event resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 people and is remembered as one of the most tragic days in American history.
Hurricane Katrina: On August 29th, 2005, Hurricane Katrina made landfall on the Gulf Coast of Louisiana as a Category 5 hurricane with winds up to 175 mph (280 km/h). The storm caused catastrophic damage to New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana and Mississippi resulting in over 1,800 deaths and billions of dollars worth of damage.
Lehman Brothers Bankruptcy: On September 15th 2008 Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy protection after suffering from losses due to subprime mortgage investments that had gone bad during the financial crisis that year. This event was seen as a major turning point for global markets which were already struggling due to economic uncertainty at the time.
Apple iPhone Release: On September 12th 2007 Apple released its first iPhone which revolutionized mobile technology by introducing features such as multi-touch screens and app stores that are now commonplace on smartphones today. The device was an instant success with over 1 million units sold within 74 days after its release date making it one of Apple’s most successful products ever released
