Hummus: A traditional Middle Eastern dip made from mashed chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice and olive oil. It is often served with pita bread or vegetables as an appetizer or snack.
Falafel: A deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas and/or fava beans, herbs and spices. It is a popular street food in Lebanon and other Middle Eastern countries.
Tabbouleh: A salad made of bulgur wheat, parsley, tomatoes, mint leaves and onion dressed with olive oil and lemon juice. It is a popular side dish in Lebanese cuisine.
Kebbeh: A dish of minced meat (usually lamb) mixed with bulgur wheat and spices such as cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg then formed into balls or patties that are fried or baked in the oven until golden brown on the outside but still juicy inside.
Fattoush: A salad made of chopped vegetables such as cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and lettuce tossed together with toasted pieces of pita bread for crunchiness then dressed with a mixture of olive oil and lemon juice for flavorings .
