Hey there! Did you know that a lot of presidents have been left-handed? It’s true! In fact, about 10% of the population is left-handed, but it seems like a much higher percentage of presidents have been. From James A. Garfield to Barack Obama, there have been quite a few southpaws in the White House. Who knew? Pretty cool, huh?

Wow, who knew? Four of our presidents were lefties! James A. Garfield, Harry S. Truman, Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan all wrote with their left hands. George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton also had a preference for their left hands too!
James A. Garfield: The 20th President of the United States, Garfield was left-handed and was known for his quick wit and intelligence.
Herbert Hoover: The 31st President of the United States, Hoover was left-handed and is remembered for his efforts to combat the Great Depression.
Harry S Truman: The 33rd President of the United States, Truman was left-handed and is remembered for his leadership during World War II and the Korean War.
Gerald Ford: The 38th President of the United States, Ford was left-handed and is remembered for his role in ending American involvement in Vietnam as well as pardoning former president Richard Nixon after Watergate scandal.
George H W Bush: The 41st President of the United States, Bush Sr was left-handed and is remembered for leading a successful international coalition against Iraq during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 as well as signing into law several important pieces of legislation such as NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement).
